As we enter into the 2012-13 school year, I would like to take this opportunity to offer a welcome home to those of you who are returning to King Philip and a warm welcome to those of you who are just joining us from the elementary districts.
The special education department at King Philip prides itself on the educational opportunities it affords for all students. Our continuum of programming allows our special education faculty to assist students in accessing the most optimal learning experiences as are appropriate for their individual needs.
Special education at King Philip is viewed as a partnership between the student, the family, and the educational team. Collaboratively, we strive to achieve a balance between providing opportunities for growth, attainable challenges, tempered with sensitivity, creativity and vision.
The following quote provides a portrait of our ‘great’ special education faculty.
“The mediocre teacher tells; the good teacher explains; the superior teacher demonstrates; the great teacher inspires." – William Arthur Ward
The goal of the special education department is to inspire our students to set goals for their futures.
